The FOOD programme presented at the CSR Europe Marketplace

On March 20th took place the CSR Europe Marketplace and the Launch of the European Business Campaign on Sustainable Living in Cities, in Brussels.

Sustainable Living in Cities is a new project from CSR Europe, under the Enterprise 2020 initiative, aiming to work with business, national organizations, policy makers, urban sustainability experts and city stakeholders, toward the creation of local and regional sustainability alliances for the acceleration of urban sustainable development.

The FOOD programme was presented during four 15-minute discussion around an “Inspiration Table” under the theme: “Communications and public private partnerships as instruments for changing consumers’ mindsets.”

Most companies and restaurants that the FOOD programme is addressing are settled in cities and are able to play a major role in urban sustainable development. The innovative and original communication channel operated by the FOOD programme – through offer and demand between employees and restaurants – as well as the wide array of public and private partners who form the FOOD consortium, can give a solid contribution towards sustainability in urban communities by helping to change the consumers’ behaviors toward healthier lifestyles.
